Former German Ambassador to Vietnam to receive Friendship Award of Vietnam

On April 1^st 2005, in Hanoi, authorized by Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phu Binh presented a Friendship Award of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Mr. Wolfgang Massing, former German Ambassador to Vietnam. This represented a recognition and appreciation by the Vietnamese State, Government and people to remarkable contribution of Ambassador Massing to the development of fine friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Germany. The Deputy Foreign Minister warmly congratulated Ambassador Massing on this noble honor.

As a German Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from August 2000 to July 2003, Ambassador Massing undertook appropriate measures aimed at facilitating bilateral relations, especially in the fields of economic cooperation, investment and trade.
