Vietnam – Germany relations on good track

On August 12th, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung received the German Ambassador to Vietnam, Rolf Schulze, and a delegation from the Reconstruction Credit Institute (KFW), which is currently paying a visit to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister expressed his happiness with the excellent development of the relationship between the two countries, especially in the area of economic development.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Vietnam is now placing special emphasis on expanding its transport infrastructure.

He said he hoped that the Government of Germany would support Vietnam in this infrastructure expansion, as well as in the educational and training sector, and in increasing skills and ability of economic cadres, saying that the KFW and authorized Vietnamese agencies should work with each other to accelerate the disbursement and distribution of the official development assistance aid that the Government of Germany has pledged to to Vietnam.

German Ambassador Rolf Schulze praised the excellent development in the Vietnam–Germany relationship, affirming that in the future, Germany would increase cooperation with Vietnam in education and training, as well as infrastructure.

This September, Germany will inaugurate the start of construction on the Vietnam–Germany University in Vietnam. By late 2008, Germany will hold several training courses to help increase financial knowledge among Vietnamese economic cadres. (BTA)
