State President meets with Indian businesses

(VNA - 12/10/2011) - Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang arrived in New Delhi on the afternoon of Oct. 11, continuing his State-level visit to India after his stop-over in Bangalore city of Karnataka State.

In New Delhi , President Sang had a meeting with leaders of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and 13 local groups and companies, including Fotis Health Care, SKIL Infrastructure, Bohra Industries, Aptech Ltd., which are operating or planning to invest in Viet Nam .

While applauding the Indian businesses’ plans to increase investment in healthcare, infrastructure, energy and high-quality human resource development in Viet Nam , President Sang said annual two-way trade of 3 billion USD remained modest as compared to the potential for cooperation between the two countries.

The State leader called upon businesses of the two nations to seek effective measures to bring bilateral economic and trade relations to be on a par with the Viet Nam-India strategic partnership.

Later on the day, the President met with the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of overseas Vietnamese in India. /.
