(MOFA) - On February 20, representative of MOFA Consular Department updated the media with the following information regarding the suspect arrested in Malaysia who holds a Vietnamese passport under the name Doan Thi Huong:
“As soon as Malaysia made public the arrest of a suspect holding Vietnamese passport under the name Doan Thi Huong, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed the Embassy of Viet Nam in Malaysia to immediately work with the local authorities to verify relevant information. Meanwhile at home, our Vietnamese authorities have also been working hard together to check the information. However, the Malaysian has not allowed any consular access to the arrested suspects in the first seven days, as they explained, due to the serious nature of the case. The verification progress therefore has been delayed.
The Embassy of Viet Nam in Malaysia will continue to closely follow case.”
