I. ANNOUCEMENTS
Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrin to visit Viet Nam (18-20 August 2014)
At the invitation of the Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, the Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrin will head a high-ranking delegation from the Cambodian National Assembly to pay an official visit to Viet Nam from 18 to 20 August 2014.
The visit aims at boosting the good neighbor relations, traditional friendship, and comprehensive, long-term and sustainable cooperation between the two countries, two National Assemblies, and two friendship associations of National Assembly delegates. The two sides will also exchange views on international issues of mutual concern and their collabration in international forums.
Chairman Heng Samrin will hold talks with Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and pay courtesy call to Vietnamese high-ranking leaders.
II. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Answering the media’s questions on the departure of Vietnamese workers from Libya, the FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh said:
“According to the Vietnamese Embassies in Libya, Egypt and Turkey, the last Vietnamese workers have moved out of danger area. As of 13 August 2014, 907 Vietnamese workers have returned to Viet Nam and 294 others have departed Libya to neighboring countries, including Tunisia, Turkey and Egypt.
Over the past days, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed Vietnamese diplomatic missions to France, Germany, Qatar, Malaysia, Egypt and Algeria to promptly work with local relevant agencies on necessary assistance for Vietnamese workers to transit and return home.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnamese diplomatic missions to countries concerned, and companies sending and employing Vietnamese workers are still following closely the situation, keeping close contact with Vietnamese workers, and actively coordinating with local authorities to provide maximum support for Vietnamese workers returning to Viet Nam from Libya.”
