(MOFA) - On July 28 2017, in response to questions from the media on recent information and comments regarding Viet Nam's oil and gas activities with a Spanish partner, MOFA’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated:

“Viet Nam's relevant oil and gas activities take place in the waters entirely within its sovereign rights and jurisdiction established  in accordance with international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982. Viet Nam requests all relevant parties respect Viet Nam’s legitimate rights and interests and work together to contribute positively and practically to the maintenance of peace and cooperation in the East Sea”.
