AP correspondent: Can you please verify a report that on May 23, 2004, in Rattanakiri province of Cambodia, a Vietnamese soldier was shot dead near the border? Please provide more information on this soldier. Why was he in Cambodia? Does this incident have anything to do with the recent unrest of the ethnic minority in Vietnam?

No Vietnamese soldier was shot dead in Rattanakiri province of Cambodia as it was reported.
It should be confirmed that Vietnamese soldiers’ encroachment of Cambodian territory is totally nonexistent.
