Regarding topics of debate in the US Presidential election campaign
ANSWER TO CORRESPONDENT BY MR. LE DZUNG, THE SPOKESMAN
OF VIETNAM’S MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ON 28th APRIL 2004
AFP: The Vietnam war has become a heated issue in the US Presidential campaign, especially between Mr. J. Kerry and President G. Bush. Please provide comments on the topic of the Vietnam War in the US today? Is there any relevance to the on-going Iraq war, since a part of the US people is still haunted with the Vietnam War? Almost 30 years after the end of the war, does the fact that the Vietnam War is often mentioned in the US contribute to building real democracy in the US and the world over?
Answer:
We do not comment on topics of debates during the US Presidential campaign. I think that this is the affair of the US voters.
