OF THE VIETNAMESE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ON 18th JULY 2005
Question: What issues, in Vietnam's view, should be on top agenda of the upcoming ASEAN Regional Forum to be held in Vientian, Laos?
Answer:
The upcoming ASEAN Regional Forum will be held in Vientian, Laos on July 27th, 2005. This is an annual multilateral forum for talks and cooperation in political and security issues in the region.
In the current regional and international context, participating countries should focus more on talks and cooperation in coping with non-traditional security threats, namely terrorism, trans-national crimes, natural calamities, epidemics, etc to maintain and enhance peace, security and stability in the region and the world./.
