Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem will pay an official visit to the U.S from 11-16th March

Question : Please, provide information about the visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem to the US?

Answer:

At the invitation of U.S State Secretary C.Rice, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem will pay an official visit to the U.S from 11-16th March, 2007. Accompaning Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem are representatives from the Government Office, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Post and Telematics and the Ministry of Education and Training.

The visit aims at promoting the positive relationship between Vietnam and the United States in recent years ; enhancing economic, trade, scientific and technological, educational and training relations; and discussing measures to implement the agreements reached during President G.Bush’s visit to Vietnam in November 2006.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem is expected to hold talks with US Secretary C. Rice, meetings with offcials of the Administration, Congressmen, representatives of financial and educational organizations, leaders of big conglomerates and the Vietnamese community living in the United States. Besides Washington D.C, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem will visit some other localities in the United States.
