Regular Press Briefing by MOFA's Spokesman May 10, 2007
At the regular press briefing on May 10, 2007 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Le Dung, Spokesman of the Ministry informed the participants of the following diplomatic activities:
1. President Nguyen Minh Triet to pay an official visit to China from 15-18 May 2007:
At the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jin Tao, President Nguyen Minh Triet will pay an official visit to China from 15-18 May 2007.
The visit is aimed at promoting the two countries' friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, enhancing mutual trust between Vietnam and China, discussing ways to promote the bilateral cooperation in various fields and bringing the relationship between the two countries into a new development stage of further dynamism and effectiveness.
2. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem to pay an official visit to Japan and attend "Future of Asia" Forum from 22-26 May 2007:
At the invitation of Japanese Foreign Minister Aso Taro, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem will pay an official visit to Japan from 22-26 May 2007.
The visit is aimed to implement the agreements reached during visits by the Prime Ministers of the two countries in 2006, enhance the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan toward strategic partnership and discussing specific cooperative measures in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem will attend the forum "The Future of Asia: Enhancing cooperation towards a real Community" from 24-25 May 2007 organized by Nikkei newspaper. Participants of the forum will present their ideas to regional leaders for discussion on economic, political, scientific and technological issues Asia is facing.
3. President of the Federal Republic of Germany Horst Kohler to pay an official visit to Vietnam from 21-23 May 2007:
At the invitation of President Nguyen Minh Triet, President of the Federal Republic of Germany Horst Kohler will pay an official visit to Vietnam from 21-23 May 2007.
The visit is aimed at promoting the relations of frienship between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany, discussing orientations and framework of the bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in economy, trade, culture and education.
