Answers:
The red flag with a yellow star is the only flag that represents an independent and unified Vietnam. The flag is recognized and respected by the international community.
Vietnam welcomes the decision by Toronto City Council, Ontario, Canada , to refuse to display a flag of a regime which has no longer existed for the last 32 years. This decision conforms to the development trend in Vietnam and Canada in general and the friendship between the sister cities Ho Chi Minh city and Toronto in particular, for the mutual interest of the two peoples.
We believe that the Vietnamese community in Canada will take appropriate actions to support the proper decision of Toronto’s Court and Council./.
