Regular Press Briefing by MOFA’s Spokesman on 11th October 2007
At the MOFA’s regular press briefing, Mr. Le Dung, Spokesman of the MOFA informed the participants of the following diplomatic activities:
1/ Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg Jean - Louis Schlitz visits Vietnam from 10 to 14 October 2007
At the invitation of Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc, H.E Jean - Louis Schlitz, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg is on a visit to Vietnam from 10 to 14 October 2007. The delegation is attending the 4th annual meeting of Vietnam - Luxembourg Partnership Commission. During the visit, Minister Jean - Louis Schlitz will be working with Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Information and Communication, Ministry of Health, the People’s Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Hue. He will also visit some Luxembourg funded projects.
2/ Question and Answer:
Reuters: Is Vietnam considering a postponement of the CLMV meeting or the AMECS meeting?
Answer: Because the Vietnamese Government is now mobilizing all efforts to overcome the aftermath of the collapse of two spans of Can Tho Bridge and serious consequences of typhoon Lekima and its torrents, Vietnam has discussed with other members of the CLMV and AMECS about postponing the two meetings and arranging to organize the two meetings at a suitable time later. Other members have agreed with this proposal./.
