Regular Press Briefing by MOFA’s Spokesman on 06th December 2007


At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs's regular press briefing on 06th December 2007, Mr. Le Dzung, Spokesman of the MOFA informed the participants of the following diplomatic activities:

1. Permanent Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung to pay official visits to Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar and Kingdom of Bahrain from 7 to 14 December 2007

Permanent Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung will pay official visits to three countries: Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar and Kingdom of Bahrain from 7 to 14 December 2007.

The visit aims to enhance and develop cooperation and friendship among Vietnam and the Gulf countries, discuss directions and concrete measures to promote bilateral relations, especially in trade and economics, concludes several agreements and memoranda of understanding aiming at exploiting potentiality of regional countries, attracting FDI, advancing exports and labors cooperation…

2. Singapore Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong to visit Vietnam from 10- 12 December 2007

At the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Senior Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong will visit Vietnam  from 10- 15 December 2007. This is the first visit to Vietnam since he became the Senior Minister of Singapore in August 2004. Accompanying the Minister are high ranking officials of Singapore (about 15 persons).

 The visit is aiming to strengthen and consolidate his relations with Vietnamese leaders, discuss directions to promote bilateral relations, especially in politics, economics, trade and investment, culture- education and international issues of common concern. The delegation will meet enterprises and attend Ground Breaking ceremonies of some projects with Singapore investment such as the Vietnam - Singapore Service and Industrial Park in Bac Ninh and Hochiminh City.

Answer: Vietnam respects Russian people’s choice and believes that Russia will continue to achieve victory on the way of strengthening and developing the country and raising its position in the international arena. Traditional cooperation, friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation will continue to be strengthened and consolidated for the interests of the two countries’ people, for peace, cooperation and development in the world.
