Vietnam consistently pursues its “one China” policy

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS' SPOKESMAN - MR. LE DZUNG
ANSWERS QUESTION ON 14th FEBRUARY 2008

In response to the questions by correspondents concerning Vietnam’s position on the news that Taiwan organizes a referendum on joining the United Nations under the name of Taiwan, the Spokesman of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Le Dzung stated:

Vietnam’s viewpoint on the Taiwanese issue has been reiterated many times in a number of joint agreements and joint communiqués between Vietnam and China. Vietnam consistently pursues its “one China” policy, supports China’s great cause of national unification and protests against any act of separation for an “independent Taiwan” under any forms including the organization of referendum on joining the United Nations under the name of Taiwan.
