Vietnam urges Taiwan to immediately cancel their inspection plan in the Truong Sa archipelagos

ANSWERS QUESTION ON MAY 5th, 2008
On May 5, 2008, in response to questions by correspondents concerning Vietnam’s comments on the news that Taiwan’s Military chief had scheduled to visit Ba Binh Island of Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago on May 7, 2008, the Spokesman of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Le Dung stated:
Vietnam possesses sufficient historical evidences and legal foundations to assert its sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
Vietnam strongly protests any activities violating the sovereignty of Vietnam over these archipelagos.
We urge Taiwan to immediately cancel their inspection plan in the Truong Sa archipelagos.
