Remarks by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on September 9, 2012
In response to question from the media concerning Viet Nam’s reactions to the conduct of a number of Taiwanese high-ranking officials of hoisting flag to claim sovereignty over Ban Than Reef of Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago of Viet Nam, Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on September 9, 2012, clearly stated:
“That action infringes up on Viet Nam’s sovereignty and territory over Truong Sa archipelago and cause tension and complicate the situation in the East Sea. Viet Nam resolutely opposes and asks that Taiwan immediately ceases wrongful actions and refrains from having activities that may complicate the situation in Truong Sa area.”
