Remarks by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on the election of WTO Director General
In response to question from reporters on Viet Nam’s reaction to the election of Ambassador Roberto Azavedo of Brazil to the World Trade Organization (WTO) as the new Director General of this organization, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on May 9, 2013 said:
"Viet Nam wishes to congratulate H.E. Ambassador Roberto Azevero on his election as the new General Director of the World Trade Organization for the 2013-2017 tenure.
We believe that during his new term Roberto Azevero will continue to strengthen and promote the role of the multilateral trading system in general and of the WTO in particular, surmounting current challenges and creating motivations for the global economy recovery.
Viet Nam on its part will continue to join hands with other WTO member countries to fulfill these goals."
