Remarks by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on Russia’s Initiative for Syria issue, September 12, 2013
In response to question from the media regarding Viet Nam’s position on the initiative that Russia proposed on September 9, 2013 that Syria will put its chemical weapons under international control, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on September 12, 2013 said:
“Viet Nam welcomes the initiative Russia laid out on September 9, 2013 and efforts made by parties concerned. We view them as positive developments that will help ease current tension in Syria. We call on parties concerned to support and actively realize initiatives that could peacefully settle issues relating Syria and bring peace and stability to Syrian people”.
