ANNOUNCEMENT
Mongolian President visits Viet Nam (Nov. 21-24)
At the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang, President Tsakhiagin Elbegdorj of Mongolia is paying a State visit to Viet Nam from today November 21 to 24, 2013.
The visit is aimed at strengthening and promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Mongolia.
President Tsakhiagin Elbegdorj and President Truong Tan Sang will hold talks to discuss orientations to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all areas, particularly economics and trade, agriculture, environment, culture, education, exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
President Tsakhiagin Elbegdorj will meet with other Vietnamese high-level leaders and attend the Viet Nam – Mongolia Business Forum.
DPM – FM Pham Binh Minh to visit Sri Lanka (Nov. 24-26)
At the invitation of Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will pay an official visit to Sri Lanka from November 24 to 26, 2013. The visit is aimed at consolidating and promoting the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister will hold talks with his Sri Lankan counterpart to exchange views on orientations and measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, agriculture, oil and gas, etc.
He will attend the inauguration ceremony President Ho Chi Minh Memorial in Capital city of Colombo.
The 2013 Mekong Delta – Vinh Long Economic Cooperation Forum (Nov. 25-26)
The 2013 Mekong Delta – Vinh Long Economic Cooperation Forum will be held in November 25 and 26, 2013 in Vinh Long city, Vinh Long province.
Under the theme ‘Mekong Delta towards to Green Economy’, the forum gives Viet Nam’s Mekong Delta provinces, particularly Vinh Long, an opportunity to strengthen economic, trade and tourism linkages with other provinces and cities as well as Ministries and agencies. With the participation of representatives from foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in Viet Nam, the forum will also be an opportunity for Mekong Delta provinces to promote their economic potentials and strength and for foreign diplomats to learn about the potentials, strength, development needs and cooperation and investment prospect in the Mekong Delta provinces.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Question: What is Viet Nam’s reaction to the bombings targeting the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon on Nov. 19 in which 23 people were killed, including Iranian cultural attaché and 146 others were wounded?
Answer:
Viet Nam condemns the terrorist bombing at the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon on November 19 in which many people were killed and wounded. Our deep condolences go to families of the victims. We believe perpetrators must be severely punished.
Question: Please update the situation concerning Vietnamese citizens in the Philippines affected by typhoon Haiyan. What kinds of measures do you take to support them?
Answer:
Immediately after the typhoon, having learned that there were Vietnamese people in the affected regions, the Foreign Ministry directed the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines to come to the sites as well as to work with local authorities to rescue the Vietnamese people.
As of November 21, our embassy has successfully made contacts with all the Vietnamese in Tacloban and the adjacent regions. There has been so far no loss of life. Everyone is now in safety. Our mission in the Philippines continues to closely monitor the situation. At the same time we are maintaining close contact with the Philippine authorities as well as relevant bodies in Viet Nam and the Vietnamese community in the Philippines to assist and support the typhoon victims to resettle or to return to Viet Nam if they wish to do so.
