PM Nguyen Tan Dung to pay official visit to Japan, attend ASEAN – Japan, Mekong – Japan Summits (Dec 13 – 15)
At the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will pay an official visit to Japan and attend ASEAN – Japan Summit commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the dialogue partnership and the 5th Mekong – Japan Summit in Tokyo, Japan from December 13 to 15, 2013.
The Commemorative Summit is an opportunity for Japanese and ASEAN leaders to review achievements of the ASEAN – Japan strategic partnership over the past four decades, to share a long-term vision for politic, security, socio-economic and cultural cooperation as well as people-to-people exchange, and for response to emerging regional and international challenges.
The 5th Mekong – Japan Summit will discuss orientations for cooperation between Japan and Mekong sub-region countries in the time to come, contributing to the sustainable development and prosperity in the Mekong sub-region.
During the official visit to Japan, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, discussing orientations to tighten Viet Nam – Japan strategic partnership. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will also attend a dialogue with Japan’s top entrepreneurs and meet with leaders of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
DPM Vu Van Ninh visits Bolivia (Dec 5 – 6)
At the invitation of the Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh is paying an official visit to Bolivia on December 5 and 6, 2013.
The visit is aimed at enhancing cooperation between Viet Nam and Bolivia, particularly in the areas of economics, trade, telecommunications, oil and gas, agriculture, and mining.
DPM Vu Van Ninh to visit Uruguay ( Dec 8 – 10)
At the invitation of the Government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh will pay an official visit to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay from December 8 to 10, 2013.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh will hold talks with a Deputy Prime Minister of Uruguay to discuss orientations and measures to boost bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, oil and gas, telecommunications, agriculture, and bio-technology.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Question: Please provide Viet Nam's response to China's recent establishment of an Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ) in the East China Sea.
Answer:
Vietnam follows with great interest the developments in the East China Sea as well as the concerns of related parties. We wish concerned parties exercise restraint, settle differences through dialogues and peaceful means in compliance with international law and to maintain security and safety for international air traffic as well as peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
Question: How does the Chinese ADIZ in the East China Sea affect Viet Nam’s international flights?
Answer:
Viet Nam's competent agencies have informed that international flights to and fro Viet Nam crossing over the East China Sea are operating normally. Flight information is sent to the authorities of relevant countries, in accordance with international regulations and practices.
Question: China recently sent its aircraft carrier Liaoning on a training mission in the East Sea. It also talked about the possibility of setting up an ADIZ in the East Sea. How do you comment on these moves?
Answer:
All activities by parties in the East Sea shall be done on the basis of respecting the national sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction of relevant states, abiding by international law and the DOC, contributing to peace and stability in the region, and avoiding tensions and complication of the situation.
Question: Please comment on the November 24 agreement between P5+1 and Iran on Iran's nuclear issue.
Answer:
Viet Nam welcomes the agreement reached on 24 November 2013 between P5+1 and Iran. This is a positive step towards the settlement of the Iran’s nuclear issue through dialogues and negotiations. As the Chair of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)'s Board of Governors for the 2013-14 tenure, Viet Nam will join the international efforts to ensure this agreement be strictly and fully observed./.
