Remarks by FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh on July 10, 2014
Responding to reporters’ question on the arrest of Vietnamese fishing vessel QNg 94912 TS by the Chinese authority, FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh stated:
“Upon receiving this information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam has instructed the Viet Nam Embassy in China as well as other Vietnamese diplomatic representative offices in China to implement necessary citizen protection measures and verify related facts.
According to the Viet Nam Consulate in Guangzhou, at 9:00 AM on 10 July 2014, Consulate representatives conducted a consular visit and carried out necessary measures to protect six fishermen of QNg 94912 TS fishing vessel of Quang Ngai Province. These fishermen, all in good physical condition, are being detained at the Port of Sanya, Sanya City, Hainan Province. The Viet Nam Consulate in Guangzhou is working closely with Hainan related agencies to clarify details of the case.”
