Remarks by MOFA Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on Viet Nam’s view on the June 6 remarks by President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea in which he honored Korean veterans who fought various wars oversea, including the war in Viet Nam
In response to question from the media on Viet Nam’s view on the June 6 remarks by President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea in which he honored Korean veterans who fought various wars oversea, including the war in Viet Nam, MOFA spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on June 12, 2017 said:
"Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam on June 9, 2017 met and lodged solemn representations with representative from the Embassy of Republic of Korean in Viet Nam concerning this matter.
Viet Nam wishes to develop friendly relations with all countries, including the Republic of Korea. Leaders of the two countries reached common perceptions of shelving the past and looking towards the future. We ask the Government of the Republic of Korea to not have any speech or action that might hurt the feeling of Vietnamese people and negatively affect the cooperative relationship between the two countries”./.
