First DPM Truong Hoa Binh to visit Guangxi province of China, attend the China – ASEAN Expo, the 14th ASEAN - China Business Investment Summit – Sep 11-13
At the invitation of the Chinese Government, First Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh will visit Guangxi province, China from September 11 - 13. In Guangxi, the DPM will attend the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 14th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS).
The visit aims at enhancing the Comprehensive Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and China and the role of Viet Nam in the ASEAN-China cooperation. It will also promote the cooperation mechanisms between Vietnamese localities and Guangxi province as well as China. DPM Truong Hoa Binh will meet with Politburo standing member and State Council Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and leaders of Guangxi Province.
Viet Nam plans to have 250 exhibition booths, sizing up to 5000 square meters, and thus remains CAEXPO’s biggest participant among ASEAN countries. The province of Thái Nguyên will take Viet Nam’s spot in National Gallery themed "Beautiful Cities".
DPM Vuong Dinh Hue to visit Switzerland, Belgium, the EU, Slovakia and Geneve-based international organizations – Sep 12 -22.
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue will pay a working visit to Switzerland and several Geneve-based international organizations from September 12-15 and visit Belgium and the European Union from September 16-19 and Slovakia from September 20-22.
The visits aim at promoting and strengthening cooperation with these countries and organizations, paricularly with Switzerland in trade - investment, development, finance - banking, education - training, urban development and tourism; with Belgium in energy, environmental technology, shipping, agro-processing; with Slovakia in trade - investment, energy, education and culture. DPM Vuong Dinh Hue will also discuss with the EU and its member states specific measures for the implementation of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) as well as the early signing and ratification of EVFTA.
During his visits, the DPM is expected to meet with Swiss Minister of Economy, Training and Research Johann Scheneider-Amman, leaders of several international organizations such as the General Secretary of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Mukhisa Kituyi, Executive Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Philipp Rosler, leaders of the World Trade Organization (WTO). In Belgium he will meet with Belgian DPM cum Minister for Economy and Employment Kris Peeters and Belgian Senate President Christine Defraigne, leaders of the European Union. In Slovakia, he will meet with PM Robert Fico, hold talks with DPM and Minister of Interiror Robert Kalinak. DPM will also attend various activities including the Investment Promotion Roundtable in Belgium and Slovakia, address the ceremony of the 40th Anniversary of Viet Nam’s membership in the UN, and meet with the Vietnamese community in these countries.
Serbian DPM FM visit Viet Nam – Sep. 7-11.
At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic is paying an official visit to Viet Nam from September 7 - 11, 2017. This is Mr. Ivica Dacic's first visit to Vietnam as Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Serbia.
2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Serbia (1957 -2017). DPM FM Ivica Dacic aims at strengthening the multi-faceted cooperation between Viet Nam and Serbia, creating new momentum to promote the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Serbia in the coming time. The two DPM FMs will discuss some international and regional issues of mutual interests.

Russian First DPM to attend the 20th Meeting of the Vietnam – Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade and Scientific-technical cooperation – Sep 8 - 9
At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, Vietnamese Chair of the Viet Nam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov will visit Viet Nam and co-chair the 20th Meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Science-Technology Cooperation September 8-9, 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting aims at reviewing and evaluating the implementation of the agreements reached by the two sides as well as discussing and agreeing on directions and measures to promote Viet Nam – Russia cooperation in the coming time.
First DPM Igor Shuvalov will pay courtesy calls at senior leaders of Viet Nam, witness the signing of cooperation documents and meet the press; participate in the Viet Nam-Russia Federation Forum. He will visit some economic and cultural sites in Ho Chi Minh City...
Brazilan Foreign Relations Minister to visit Vietnam September 9-12
At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Foreign Relations of the Federal Republic of Brasil Aloysio Nunes Ferreira will pay an official visit to Viet Nam from September 9-12 , 2017. This has been Minister Ferreira’s first visit to Viet Nam since his appointment as Minister in March 2017.
The visit aims at promoting the Viet Nam – Brazil Comprehensive Partnership in various areas and exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interests.
The Minister will pay a courtesy call at Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, hold talks with DPM, FM Pham Binh Minh, witness the signing of the Maritime Transportation Agreement, and meet with leaders of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Viet Nam-Brazil Friendship Association.

Could you give updates on the investigation of the case of Nguyen Quoc Phi who was fatally shot in Taiwan? How is the funeral and repartriation work going on?
According to the Vietnamese Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phi’s family has arrived in Taiwan. The office is working with local authorities to assist the family in the funeral work for the deceased.
The office has directly worked with the local authorities and urged them to expedite the investigation and clarification of the case. The office will continue to follow the case and work with the local authorities in the investigation and handling of the case to protect the legitimate right and interest of Vietnamese citizen.
