Remarks by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Le Thi Thu Hang on the resumption of international flight between Viet Nam and a number of countries and territories


(MOFA) - On 17th September 2020, responding to a reporter’s question on the resumption of international flight between Viet Nam and a number of countries and territories, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated:

The Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control have decided to resume commercial flights between Viet Nam and 6 countries and territory with high safety index, namely Japan, The Republic of Korea, China, Taiwan (China), Lao, and Cambodia.

Travellers eligible to enter Viet Nam include (i) Vietnamese citizens (ii) foreigners holding diplomatic passport, official passport, experts, investors, business managers, high-skilled workers and their family; international students; and relatives of Viet Nam citizens.

To achieve this goal, following the Prime Minister’s direction, Viet Nam’s relevant ministries and departments have cooperated with foreign authorities to plan resuming international flights between Viet Nam and cities including Seoul (Republic of Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Taiwan, Guangzhou (China) from the 15th of September, 2020, and with Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) from 22nd of September, 2020. People who wish to enter Viet Nam on these flights after transitting a third country will have to strictly follow Viet Nam’s regulations on disease prevention including medical screening and quarantine requirements./.
