Remarks by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Le Thi Thu Hang on the possibility of the UK joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership
(MOFA) - At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regular press conference on September 17, responding to a reporter’s question on the possibility that the UK will join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated:
CPTPP is a high quality free trade agreement with comprehensive commitments in order to enhance economic – trade cooperation between members countries, liberize trade in line with international laws and regional practice.
CPTPP’s member countries have ratified the entry procedures which require that economies that interested in joining the CPTPP must meet the Agreement’s high standards as well as the entry procedures.
As far as I’m concerned, the UK side has recently had several exchange activities with the CPTPP’s members. As a member of CPTPP, Viet Nam stands ready to share information and experiences in joining the CPTPP with the UK.
