Remarks by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Le Thi Thu Hang on Singapore’s recent decision to ease certain restrictions for Vietnamese citizens visiting Singapore
On 11 November 2021, in response to a reporter’s request for comment on Singapore’s recent decision to ease certain restrictions for Vietnamese citizens visiting Singapore, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that:
Viet Nam welcomes Singapore’s decision to ease quarantine requirements for Vietnamese citizens entering this country, thereby facilitating the travelling of and trade activities between the two peoples. This is also a testament to Viet Nam’s efforts and accomplishments in containing the pandemic, ensuring social security and fostering economic development.
At the instruction of the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is engaging in discussion with over 80 countries and territories, including Singapore, on the mutual recognition of vaccine passport, and the resumption of international commercial flights. We hope that partners will actively respond to Viet Nam’s proposal, thereby contributing to global efforts to foster post-pandemic socio-economic recovery and development.
