In response to the request for information regarding the oil tanker MV Sothys, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that:

According to the Embassy of Viet Nam in Iran, the oil tanker MV Sothys left Iran’s territorial waters at 2 am on 10 November 2021 (local time), and has since resumed its operation as usual.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran have been working closely with Iranian competent authorities to expeditiously address this issue, so as to ensure the lawful rights and interest of Vietnamese citizens and businesses.
