The announcement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Pham Thu Hang on President Donald Trump’s decision on 9 April to implement a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for over 75 countries, including Viet Nam
On 10 April 2025, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, in response to a question regarding Viet Nam’s comments and upcoming measures following President Donald Trump’s decision on 9 April to implement a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for over 75 countries, including Viet Nam, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated:
“We view the U.S.’ decision to pause reciprocal tariffs for 90 days on exports from other countries, including Viet Nam, as a positive step. Guided by the spirit of the Viet Nam - U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and grounded in mutual respect, the two countries will negotiate a reciprocal trade agreement, aiming to reach satisfactory solutions towards fair and sustainable trade that benefits the people and business communities of both countries.”
