Documentary on Viet Nam screened in Cuba

VNA - The Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry on September 17th screened a documentary film about Viet Nam and its economic reform and development since its struggle for independence and freedom.

“Travel to the country that no longer exists”, directed by Isabel Santos, was filmed by camera man Ivan Napoles in Viet Nam during the 1960s and 1970s.

The film highlights Viet Nam ’s impressive changes during the process of national construction since reunification in 1975.

The film combines scenes recorded in the past and present, during the war and during the process of economic development, giving the audience an insight into Viet Nam ’s achievements in recent years.

The film also reflects the special sentiments of the filmmakers and Cuban friends towards Viet Nam .

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Duong Minh thanked the film makers for their dedication and hard work, which has helped the people of Cuba gain a deeper understanding of the country’s efforts to reform and achieve economic development.
