Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga, Honorary President of the ASEAN Community Women Group in Hanoi, led a delegation of ambassadors, wives and husband, representatives of embassies in the ASEAN Community Women Group in Hanoi and representatives of some units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attend and give gifts to teachers and students of Thanh Xa Secondary School (Thanh Ba, Phu Tho) on the occasion of the new school year 2019 - 2020.
Welcoming the delegation, there were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, member of Phu Tho's Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Department of Public Affairs; Mr. Vi Manh Hung, Secretary of Thanh Ba District Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, Chairman of Thanh Ba District People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Van Ly, Principal of Thanh Xa Secondary School.
On this occasion, representatives from embassies of some countries in Vietnam and some organizations also gave teachers and students of Thanh Xa Secondary School meaningful and practical gifts.
The delegation awarded 23 scholarships to 23 poor students overcoming difficulties in studying.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new school year, Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga on behalf of the delegation expressed her views on the material and spiritual difficulties of Thanh Xa Secondary School's teachers and students. In the past 2 years, the school has been devastated by floods and seriously degraded facilities.
“The gifts are small, but above all, it is a gesture of understanding and sharing of friendship of international friends, organizations and diplomats for relatives, teachers and children in Thanh Xa commune, ”said Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga.
Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga believed, with the determination and continuous efforts of the school collective, Thanh Xa Secondary School will successfully carry out the tasks of the 2019-2020 school year, so that everyday at school will be a happy day for the students.
